Gino's in New York tomorrow,
taping a radio interview with the Joe Franklin
radio show. The resulting interview is tentatively
scheduled to air on Saturday, June 14th on the
national WOR radio network. You can listen to

On Wednesday, June 18 at 9
p.m. ET, CBC Television presents GINO VANNELLI:
CANTO, a brand new hour-long special produced
by CBC TV. Through the course of the show, Vannelli
guides viewers through his career from its roots
in Montreal to his present life in Oregon. Along
the way, he shares the sources of inspiration
that led to his new album, Canto, a unique blending
of pop sensibility along with a classical temperament
that gives way to a style of music and singing
that defies definition.
The show features songs taped live in
concert in Copenhagen, and interviews with brothers
Joe and Ross, longtime musician friends Alain
Caron and Bill Meyers, soprano singer Janet
Chvatal, voice coach Tom Blaylock and friend
and lyricist Saverio Principini. The end result
is a remarkable journey through time that explores
how the pop star and sex symbol from the '70s
morphed into the serious singer and composer
of orchestral and vocal works we know today.

As you've probably noticed, we now have links
to French
& Italian
versions of the site. After checking in on the
message
boards from time to time, it seems as though
we should have quite a few more languages!!!
Gino truly is a world-wide star, it seems. I
would ask our non-English friends' patience,
as occasionally there will be a delay in updating
those sites, while we wait for translations.
CANTO,
is of course, now released in Canada. Around
the world, you should be able to get CANTO in
the UK, Netherlands, Sweden, Belgium, Denmark,
Finland, Italy, Singapore, Taiwan, Thailand,
Mexico, Germany & Switzerland. The album
will be released in Brazil in June and in the
US on July 1st (RCA Victor).
